Oops

Director Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas, Timecode) was going through security at LAX when he was asked the reason for his visit.

He responded by saying; "I'm here to shoot a pilot."

Five hours after immigration and airport officials got online and figured out that, "pilot" has more than one meaning, he was released.

Don't you feel safe that our airports are hiring the best and brightest...

This sounds like something that would happen on the Simpsons if Homer got a job at the airport. Just sad.

When I go to bookstores and do a "stock signing" I have been known to walk up the the customer service desk, book in hand, ask for a pen and say "I'm going to scribble in this book, you are going to be very proud of me and then give me a sticker." Then I hold up my book and point to the picture of me on the back of it and then smile. Luckily my little routine doesn't confuse the booksellers, otherwise I wouldn't have time to do that. I dont' have 5 hours to be detained in Barnes & Noble!
